Malmok Bar & Grill

Overall a nice resort-based restaurant. It has a a nice beach front & pool location, and was perfect for the day we arrived (tired) to the resort. The food is good, and our orders were prepared properly - even with our special prep request due to allergens. The service was a bit slow and we found ourselves looking for our waiter instead of him checking in on us. It's also nice they have wait staff during the day circling the pool and checking on guests on the beach who may want food & drinks brought to them.

This is a sad place. It has a beautiful location but the service stinks and the kitchen staff has no pride. I ordered a burger and asked for American cheese instead of cheddar. I ordered from the bar because there is ONE waiter for the entire beach on a SATURDAY (which will be the subject of a different review). After twenty minutes I got a cheddar burger. When you care about your customers and take pride in your job you make it right. But, hey, mistakes happen. I make them all the time because I’m a human being. When I make one, I own it. I admit it and do my best to fix it. At Malmok they bring your burger back to the kitchen and instead of making a fresh one the right way, the quite callously scrape the cheddar off of the burger and bring it back out to you, cold, with remnants of cheddar on it, after everyone and their brother has breathed all over it. No wonder they only get a 3.6 on Google. I certainly expected more from a Marriott affiliated place. Quite shameful. UPDATE: it’s the next day and I’m sitting in the same place because I have no choice. I tried to go to the brunch next door at Stellaris and couldn’t get a reservation. I waited 25 minutes for my omelet. I ordered bacon, tomato an onion. Th waiter specifically asked if I wanted chees even though I didn’t ask for it and I of course responded that I did NOT want cheese. As you might expect, after waiting 25 minute I got a cheese omelet. It’s hard to believe this place actually makes money. Inept doesn’t do justice to the level of incompetence.

Wound not recommend. 1 burger sent back because it was overcooked and then came back cooked good but wondered what kind of meat it was. Club sandwich , stale bread and yesterday’s bacon. Fries delicious. Seared tuna tasted good but got food poisoning!!!!!!! Never again!

Inconsistent tending of the bar. Mother in law was charged for two drinks when she only ordered one. Asked for a strawberry spritz right off their menu and the bartender asked me what that was. He winged it and it was good. Someone else from our our party ordered two and made them completely differently without ice. The drink is just an aperol spritz with strawberry puree. If you can’t handle that you have no business behind the bar, especially at a busy beach resort bar. Marriott needs to correct this.

A low-key late night dinner spot. Be sure to enjoy the local funchi, flavorful, and well seasoned dishes that leave you full and very satisfied. Everything tastes delicious, but the salad is an absolute favorite. #fallynsfoodieexcursions #livelaughlovetoeat #arubafavorites #arubafood #nofilters
