Every island has that one place you end up at when the night is not ready to end. On Aruba, in the high-rise area of Noord, that place is Cafe 080. It is a Dutch bar and restaurant that is beloved by the Dutch crowd and has become a genuine staple of Aruban nightlife, the spot you head to after a concert, after dinner somewhere else, or halfway through a bar crawl.
The name, by the way, is pronounced the Dutch way, "nul-tachtig", not "zero-eighty" in English. That small detail tells you everything about who this place is for and where its heart is. Open since 2009 and run by owner Jaap Rikken, Cafe 080 has kept the same easy, welcoming, local-hangout feel for years.
Set your expectations correctly and you will love it: this is a casual, outdoor, late-night bar for snacks, drinks, and sport on the screens, not a sit-down dinner restaurant. On that promise, it delivers every time.

Make it your second or third stop of the night, after a concert or dinner. Come as you are, grab an outdoor table and order the patatje oorlog! If there's a match on, it's a great spot to watch with a beer.

The best choice for a real, authentic outdoor local dining and bar experience is Cafe 080. Japie (Jacob) is most welcoming and personable. This is only a ten minute drive from the Eagle Beach area (even closer from Palm Beach). The Fish and Chips and Flammkuchen (flat bead pizza- toppings vary by day of week) and Wings are all great options. Just because you may be staying near the beaches, don’t let that fact deter you from visiting Cafe 080. You will be happy you made the short trek.
Such a wonderful place to stop into on our first night. Everyone was so lovely, kind, and very attentive to our needs. Happy Hour was from 4-6 so we were able to try a few different drinks and the food was delicious! We got calamari to start, the mixed platter and the beep tips! Highly Recommend!
This Dutch style pub was and is a must go to. Warning!!!! The bitterballen are highly addictive. First time ever having them and became obsessed. They are delicious mouth sized bombs They were filled with the remoulade and pieces of beef meat. They match perfectly with any drink. My new favourite app while drinking. Tried their fish and chips, reminded me of that that old fashioned fish and chips. The batter and crisp were amazing, the fries were done well and the tartar sauce was delicious. The atmosphere is fun and local vibe. The staff are super friendly and extremely warm. The crowd seemed to always be chilled and down to earth. Great place to relax and have a drink and some pub bites to match. Happy hours are amazing here. Please make sure to ask for their housemade Pica de Papaya and you must buy a jar from them. Its super tasty and has some nice heat to it. Favourite pub on the island.
I had some fries while I watched a bit of the Netherland vs Sweden World Cup match. Fun atmosphere and everyone was representing in their orange. My first time trying Dutch style fries. The fries are topped with mayo, a slightly sweet ketchup, and chopped bits of onion. I had it with a chill beer. It was fun and the fries were good.
We’ve driven by this place frequently over the last few trips here but decided to try it out finally. Wish we had tried it sooner! Fantastic ambiance with outdoor seating and lighting. We were immediately greeted by the server who was very friendly. He let us know we could sit anywhere we liked. He made us feel like welcome guests immediately! The menu is Dutch/bar food. I got the zuurkool and my husband got the coconut shrimp. Both platters were fantastic. The zuurkool is mashed potatoes mixed with sauerkraut with either smoked sausage or a meatball. I got the meatball and it also came with gravy and mustard. Also service was quick and we were able to eat and get back home. Lovely fun atmosphere and they have a great playlist
Night owls, sports fans, groups of friends bar hopping through Noord, homesick Dutch visitors, and anyone who wants somewhere still serving when the resort restaurants have wrapped up. If you are staying in the high-rise area, it is an easy walk or a short ride.
This is not a family dinner spot at night, the atmosphere is more bar than restaurant once the evening gets going. It is also not the place for a proper sit-down dinner or a scenic meal, since there is no view and the food is built around snacks. Daytime is a better bet if you have young kids and just want a quick bite.
Cafe 080 is mostly an outdoor spot with a small indoor section, and the vibe is chill and casual, the kind of place where you sit around a table with a beer and a plate of fries and stay a while. There is no view to speak of, but that is not what you come for. You come for the atmosphere, which gets more fun as the evening goes on.
Because it opens at 4:00 pm and runs to midnight, it is squarely an afternoon-into-night place rather than a lunch or breakfast one. During the day it can work for a quick snack, but the true character of Cafe 080 shows up at night, when it fills with people looking to relax, watch a game, and keep the night going.

If you want to see where locals and the Dutch crowd actually spend their late evenings, away from the polished resort strip, Cafe 080 is that place. Keep your expectations casual, order the patatje oorlog, and let the night take care of itself.
